Alex Borlo, Founder and Creative Director

Alex Borlo is an actress, writer, director, and published poet. A graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, she was consistently recognized as a standout talent, originating roles in new plays and performing at Buckingham Palace. She brings a deep well of emotional range, mastery of dialect, and fearless physicality to every role. With over fifteen years of vocal training and a background in improvisation and devised work, Alex thrives in projects that call for specificity, transformation, and risk.

As a filmmaker, Alex threads themes of trauma, addiction, recovery, and folklore into intimate, muscular storytelling. On stage, she has originated new works in London, Toronto, and Washington D.C. On screen, she has appeared across Netflix, Hulu, Apple TV+, and AMC. Nomina, her directorial debut, embodies her passion for blending raw emotional truth with the mythic, creating cinema that is at once haunted, tender, and alive. She is most interested in what is surprising, what hurts, and what might make it better.
